a FABULOUS start in brooklyn
In Spring 2025, we launched our first full cohort of Teach Fabulous in Community School District 13. Across eight powerful sessions, 24 educators came together to build confidence, confront bias, and reimagine what inclusive education can look like.

TF! worked with 24 educators across eight professional learning sessions, cultivating a network of teachers committed to inclusive pedagogy.
The program directly addressed pressing challenges in NYC schools: educator burnout, student mental health, and the lack of affirming environments for LGBTQ+ educators and youth.
Participants reported a 31-point average increase in confidence and fluency across key indicators—from interrupting bias to implementing inclusive practices. Notably, 94% of educators said they felt more confident interrupting student bias, and 96% reported increased use of inclusive classroom tools.
Topics covered:
Teaching affirming practices, identity, and joy across grade levels
Brave space agreements & bias interruption
Frameworks and teaching tools (e.g. Courageous Conversations Compass, Framework for Liberatory Consciousness, Upstander Actions, etc.)
LGBTQ+ History as a tool for trauma-informed practice and empowering educator impact
Real-time harm repair strategies (role plays, affirming language)
